The Swedish Post and Telecom Authority (PTS) is required by regulation (2007:951) to promote the expansion of and access to broadband and mobile coverage. In accordance with this, geographical mapping of access to fixed and mobile broadband infrastructure and mobile voice services is carried out.
The survey has been conducted through formal request to about 900 operators who are active in Sweden and are covered by the Act (2022:482) on Electronic Communications, as well as village networks that are obligated to provide the information. All statistics reported for the year 2024 reflect the situation on 1 October 2024.
