Information about the Broadband Survey
PTS's Broadband Survey is based on material compiled from network owners and service
providers that have a notification obligation. The information is comprehensive and the
response rate is over 90 per cent.
Information about connection points, telecommunications exchanges and radio coverage
has been positioned geographically and matched up against information from Statistics
Sweden relating to the resident population and workplaces. This means that the survey
gives a good indication of access to broadband infrastructure as a whole and for individual
PTS has been assigned by the Government to conduct its survey. By 'broadband', PTS
means a connection to the Internet via an access technology whose most rapid subscription
- according to statistics from Bredbandskollen - delivers an average actual transmission rate
downstream of at least 1 Mbps.
